Sheriff's Biography

John T. Loomis- Erie County Sheriff

Life-long Erie County Resident

Employed by the County of Erie for 33-years, the last 23-years with the Erie County Sheriffs Office.

Past experience with the Erie County Department of Corrections.

ACT 2 Certified-1991

Since 1991 I have worked my way up through the ranks, starting as a civil/court deputy, moving to the warrant unit where I became an active member of several fugitive task forces.

Promoted to Lieutenant of court security, scheduling and building security.

Promoted to Captain overseeing daily operations of the office and in command of the warrant unit.

Strong commitment to running an office of integrity, professionalism with high moral standards.

As Sheriff I am committed to operating an office with an open door policy to any citizen whom may have concerns, complaints or suggestions regarding this office. I will be searching for new ways to provide services to the citizens of Erie County.

To protect our seniors and be role models for our children. To assist all local law enforcement in making our neighborhoods safe.
