Baby & Me - Tobacco Free
The Baby & Me - Tobacco Free Program is a smoking cessation program created to reduce the burden of tobacco use on the pregnant and post-partum women. Smoking during pregnancy is a well-documented cause of premature and underweight births. Non-smoking mothers reduce the damaging effect of exposure to secondhand smoke on their children.
How the Program Works
Pregnant women enrolled in the Baby & Me - Tobacco Free Program attend four prenatal cessation appointments. During the prenatal period, the participant receives four cessation counseling sessions, quit support education, and carbon monoxide (CO) testing.
After the birth of the baby, the mother returns every month for 12 months to continue CO montoring and, if smoke-free, she receives a $25 voucher for diapers.
