Eighty-six million adults in the US have prediabetes, and 90% of these adults are unaware. In efforts to prevent prediabetes from progressing, the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) has been developed. This evidence based program is for qualifying adults who have prediabetes, or are at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes. By participating in this structured lifestyle change program, the risk for developing type 2 diabetes can be reduced by up to 58%.
